Shine On 03:35
Caramel sky painted across the clouds Somebody’s strugglin’ but everyone’s allowed And if you’re going to reach, reach for the stars Pack yourself a lunch in some antique jars Celebrate your fears Celebrate your scars You’ve earned every one You’re a shiny old car Shine on Shine on Shine on You got the Mercedes covered up with rust Champagne fizz from the boom to the bust From a far away farm to the California gold Chasing down a dream You just can’t be sold Celebrate life Let it all fall free Kick off your shoes and wiggle your feet Shine on Shine on Shine on Feel the feel Taste what's real Jump in the ocean And bark like a seal And if youre gonna reach Reach for the sky Smile at a stranger Let the tears fly Celebrate peace Don’t pick fights Communicate love Turn on your light Shine on Shine on Shine on

Pharmacist 03:49
I feel so far from me I could use a pharmacy And tell me, tell me can you handle this? Would you be my pharmacist? I know there’s a hierarchy But they’d probably fire me And have you got something for this? Would you be my pharmacist? And you can ask me what is the last four of my social number And you can tell me that my prescription is only for my lower lumbar And I could ask you if you got something for a chronic emotional thumbler And could I have your number? And if we ever broke it off Even if I had a really bad cough I would use the drop off slot No I insist cause you’re my pharmacist And you can ask me what is the last four of my social number And you can tell me that my prescription is only for my lower lumbar And I could ask you if you got something for a chronic emotional thumbler And could I have your number?

I won’t stop once the Rubber hits the road I’m bound for Mexico Daylight wakes My sleepy head Turns the mountains gold I’ve had one too Many ties to you One too many tries for you Oh, my love I’d dies for you And I’m over now Over the top for you There’s a snake in the Middle of the road Do I swerve to miss? I can’t shake this Feeling that I hold There’s poison in your kiss I’ve had one too Many ties to you One too many tries for you Oh, my love, I’d dies for you And I’m over now Over the top for you Three more hours And my heart gets tossed I could tumble down Into the rocks My sleepy eyes They start to crust And I’m lost I behold your shaky soul Tremblin’ at the core Your eyes are just like Dynamite Still I ask for more I’ve had one too Many ties to you One too many tries for you Oh, my love, I’d dies for you And I’m over now Over the top for you

The windows of Halifax Were shuttered and closed down It was almost Christmas Eve It was quiet on the town There was snow on the streets Everyone was inside I look at my tree And I slowly cry Well I drove in my car It was like I was on the moon I thought of a warmer place In the middle of June Sometimes this old snow Makes me so mad Sometimes for no reason I just feel kinda sad The windows of Halifax tonight Well the first window says to The second window “How come you never open up?” And the second window says “I had my heart broke once Now I just stay closed shut” Well the first window says “Maybe you could see some kind of Counselor or something Maybe a window washer could Help you see things more clearly 'Cause I think you’re pretty attractive But you always have your Shade pulled down And the sun can never come in” Well the second window says “Frick the sun, guy The girl I love is back in St. Anthony In the big old house with Overgrown weeds She’s a beautiful window And I can see all the way through her To her soul” “Back in St. Anthony? Well I was imported from St. John’s Well the fellow who lives here He studied chemistry at Dalhousie University Truthfully he flunked out Be he’s still a chemist Well actually, he’s just a drug dealer And we got people comin’ in and Outta the house all night long But I don't have anyone to talk to Just bottle caps and cigarette butts Being flicked my way” “Dalhousise University you say? Well the fellow that lives here next door He studied geography and archaeology Over in Antiginosh At St. Francis Xavier University But he flunked out too Now the only mountains he sees Are paper mountains From his failed thesis Yeah he’s got some tinfoil trees A cardboard river And an ugly, ugly paper mountain He made out of the drug dealers trash outside” Sometimes this old snow Makes me so mad Sometimes for no reason I just feel kinda sad The windows of Halifax tonight Well the windows of the Maritimes They’re all tellin’ stories Of the plentiful days Of the cod and the glory Where an explosion that rocked A French cargo ship In Dartmouth near the harbor All the windows got clipped Well all these windows They’re all tellin’ stories Some are so sweet Some are so gory There was a murder one night No one ever speaks of The windows of Halifax tonight

Come to me in the mornin' If you’re lonely Come to me in the evening If you’re sad I’ll be your ma, I’ll be your brother I’ll be glad to be your dad Come to me in the mornin' I’ll be your lad Come to me when your sage lays down a tarot card The sun is setting and you set your horses free Doesn’t matter where you're bruised or where you’re scarred Your secret’s safe with me Come to me if you’re looking for some action Come to me if you’re feeling unprepared I’ll be your shrink, I got a couch I mean everyone gets scared Come to me for some action I’ll be there Come to me when your cup floweth over I’ll come over and drink with you I have never seen a four leaf clover But I know if something’s true Come to me in the mornin' If you’re lonely Come to me when everything is a sham There is nothing here to hide Well I’ll show you everything I am Come to me in the mornin' Step inside

Girl if I don’t pick up It’s cause I’m in my pickup I did what I could To be there for you I thought that you and me Were dreamin’ of a life for two The sun was shinin’ And the sky, so blue You threw it all away When you made me your fool So... Girl if I don’t pick up It’s cause I’m in my pickup And I’m on my way to pick up Somebody else My heart is always achin’ for love You’re always fakin’ And I think it’s time you pick up yourself I’m gonna love somebody else I could go ahead and beg you I could tell you what’s at stake But it ain’t no use at all All you do is take, take, take How many fools, how many Hearts you gonna break? Thought we were makin’ love But we were makin’ a mistake So... Girl if I don’t pick up It’s cause I’m in my pickup And I’m on my way to pick up Somebody else My heart is always achin’ for love You’re always fakin’ And I think it’s time you pick up yourself I’m gonna love somebody else You know everybody needs Someone (sometime) You’re gonna need a number to call (hotline) I used to sit by the phone thinking You’d get some sense But if you call me up tonight All you’re gonna get is radio silence Girl if I don’t pick up It’s cause I’m in my pickup And I’m on my way to pick up Somebody else My heart is always achin’ for love You’re always takin’ And I think it’s time you pick up yourself I’m gonna love somebody else

4th of July 03:59
No I won’t forget the first time that I saw you You were waving by the screen on the 4th of July And I marveled what a sight to behold you And I fell into the spell of your wandering eye I believe in everything that’s true I can hear the angels sing for you All I know is a feeling when it’s right I’ll meet you out by the fireworks tonight Well the horses they get spooked by the pounding And the colors all around us on the 4th of July My heart's beating fast, now it's sounding Like the thunder in the clouds when I look in your eyes I believe in everything that’s true I can hear the angels sing for you And all I know is a feeling when it’s right I’ll meet you out by the fireworks tonight Well the quilt of life is made of many patches And the stitches all look seamless on the 4th of July You spark my heart just like a book of matches And I love to fall asleep by your heavenly light I believe in everything that’s true I can hear the angels sing for you And all I know is a feeling when it’s right I’ll meet you out by the fireworks tonight

I would like to meet you At the corner store The one on the east side Where the people are poor No one has to know It’s our thing When the cold wind blows Across the high grey sky Like an ice cream cone On an apple pie We gotta go Like Uncle Louis Lou-eye This town is big enough for two Not big enough for me and you So I’m gonna go far To the furthest star I wanna see if it shines I wanna trace the lines Across your face And never leave this place Never, never, never I cried in front of you In bed the other night You said come here Then you held me tight I never did that before You said it’d be alright I believed you then
10.
It started out so pleasant at the movies Everyone was present The popcorn and the noise The shooter he was poised With a mask upon his face And everyone in place Like targets they did fall Screaming in the hall The world’s stepped over the line No warning no sign, it’s gonna take some time But all things shine, all things shine A man gets on a bus With a bomb in the vest He’s in a rush He says a little prayer To a god he’s sure is there The blast, the crash The fires, the screeching of the tires The cops all screaming orders The news trucks and reporters The world’s stepped over the line No warning no sign It’s gonna take some time But all things shine All things shine To talk, to love, to hate To divide the human race, it’s fate With religion on our side And armies we divide The cycle breaks it all repeats It gives and takes and cheats The skies are turning red We’re walking but we’re dead The world’s stepped over the line No warning no sign, it’s gonna take some time But all things shine, all things shine

about

I moved to Nashville a couple years ago and wanted to make a record here in Music City. I sought out Will Kimbrough. I like his vibe and
knew we’d get along and it’d be fun. Boy was I right. The whole process was a joy. So relaxed and easy. We discovered stuff and there
was absolutely no pressure from any outside sources. I shut out the world. We’re inundated with bad news every single minute of every
day. Sometimes I have to remind myself to keep on shining. All we have are our crazy souls. Everyone’s got a spark. I know I do. I’m
positive you do. Sometimes I lose my way. Sometimes we all lose our way. Shine on. Shine on. Shine on!
